Where to get gas, especially diesel close to the farm
The closest places to get diesel gas are in Barneveld to the west and Mount Horeb to the east. Both are about 10 minutes away. Both places are regular diesel pumps and not the dual pumps for semis or large parking lots with a lot of semis. Both places have lots of space for driving with big rigs. For people in unfamiliar territory, the BP at Barneveld is a little easier access from the highway, but both are pretty easy.
For Barneveld, take the Barneveld exit from Hwy. 18/151 to the BP station south of highway. From either direction, you will cross the bridge. There is AMPLE room to drive in with a big rig, drive around the back of the station and pull up to the diesel pumps at the west end of the station. There are also diesel pumps at the regular gas pumps.
For Mount Horeb, exit highway 18/151 at Hwy. 78 and follow the directions taking you into Mount Horeb. The Premier Cooperative will be on your right and has separate diesel pumps along with the regular pumps. There's also a hardware store there.
