Welcome

Horse Motel and Short Term Boarding

Barn, Black Forest Farm Black Forest Farm offers a most luxurious environment for visiting horses. Traveling with horses can be hard on the body and soul, but we have a relaxing atmosphere to help perk up you as well as your horses.

In addition to horses, we also have goats, cats and peacocks at the barn.  In the house we have dogs as well.  Many of our animals who call our place home are rescues.  Your well behaved pets are welcome as well.  Dogs can be off leash as long as they don't chase or potentially hurt our other animals. Guests staying in the house may bring their pets inside with them.

Horse Motel, Black Forest Farm

Guest horses stay in 12' x 20' stalls.  We use only sanitized buckets for your horses and turn our feeders out during your stay for the protection of your horses and ours.  However guests often prefer to bring their own buckets, hay and water to minimize change and stress on the horses.

Horse Motel

Short-term or Horse Motel board is $20 per horse per night. Electric or water hook-ups are $5 per unit per day.

For Horse Motel visitors, there are many local motels or there is a two-bedroom loft with a private bathroom, sitting area and satellite TV for $95 per night. Meals are optional and must be requested prior to booking your reservation. Pets are allowed under certain circumstances. Pet sitting is available while owners visit local attractions. For other motels, restaurants, supplies, trails and things to do, check out our area attractions page.

**For the health and safety of all horses, horse owners must provide proof of negative Coggins before the horse is unloaded. Horses must be current on vaccinations. A note, proof of vaccination or health certificate from a veterinarian must accompany each horse.

Black Forest Farm, LLC uses the services of Country View Veterinary Service in Oregon, Wisconsin and follows the care, maintenance and management practices recommended by their excellent team of veterinarians.

There is a large outdoor arena which serves as a level place to load and unload horses.  It's also a great place to turn horses out before they are stalled for the night.  The arena is surrounded with Priefert corral panels.  There is a separation from other horses to prevent nose to nose contact.  The arena can accommodate several trailers.  Guests sometimes use our hook ups and stay overnight in their living quarters.

Nitas, Black Forest FarmSome horses need to stay a little longer.  Short term board is an excellent option for horses in need of recuperative care or foaling services.  Our large 12' x 24' stalls with cameras and our central indoor arena with a camera allow us to check in on your horse's progress 24 hours a day.
